So, with all the time I spend with my baby sullies, I've noticed that in one of their enclosures, I have their water dish about two inches away from the outer rim of the clamp lamp that I use for heat, (so, it's close) and the other enclosure their water dish is half under their hide to keep moisture up (so, this water dish is farther away from the heat lamp and the water is always cold). In the box that has the warm water dish there's ALWAYS dirt or poop in it and ayana likes to bask under the heat lamp with her little bottom and back feet in the water. But the colder water in the other tub stays crystal clear and undisturbed. I don't know what the temp of the two separate water dishes are, but it seems my babies prefer the warmer water. Anyone else noticed this? This could be something to help little hatchlings keep hydrated and prevent hatchling failure syndrome and/or pyramiding? I'm going to move their water bowl closer to my other heat lamp and see if it gets more usage!

Yeah, I don't see much of mystery here, either. I like warm water better than cold for soaking, too! :p

Actually, I noticed Taco today, for the first time ever, "dip" herself into her water dish and pause there before climbing out and heading into her hide. It was pretty warm out there and the sun had been shining directly on that water, so I think she "meant" to do it. It was nice to see her enjoying the activity. :D
