This sprouted in my big hibiscus that is now in for the winter. The whole plant is about 12 inches high and the bottom leaves form a sort of low rosette around the stalks. The bottom leaves are also a very different shape than the leaves on the stalks. I initially thought it was two different plants sprouted on top of one another, which is why I have let it continue to grow.
If it's tasty and safe I will move it into Odin's greenhouse, if not it's going in the compost heap.052.JPG 053.JPG

Well, it's definitely NOT part of your hibiscus, but I'm sorry to say I don't know what it is. Let's see if @Iochroma fares any better.

Ha! That gave me a chuckle, and it's about as far as I have gotten with identification too. I've been in MN for 46 years now and I can honestly say I don't believe I have ever seen it before.

When in doubt rip it out !
If he had access to it I probably would, but unless he finds a way to climb out of his enclosure, open the door to his room and make his way up a flight of stairs I can wait until lochroma or someone can id it for me. :p
