When was the last time you cleaned out the aquarium and put new bedding in? I always clean everything with water mixed with light bleach or virex. I noticed mold was growing in mine today so i cleaned all of it out and the torts are loving their new stuff.

I was about to clean it the next day because I just bought new coco coir. And I replaced the bedding once before. Plus I only had him for 17 days :'(

I lost a real beauty Herman last year and found out she was carrying which made it worse!!! I took her in and the previous owner was not honest about her condition it was awfull and I cried for days and burying her and her unborn was the worst but the way I look at it is next time there is no hesitation I travel an hour round trip to a specialist tort vet now and the knowledge I gained from her death by all sources you could think of kept me at peace and I am still learning and I have had torts for 16 years now you can beat yourself up time and time again just do yourself a favour and get yourself another little muncher and be happy watching it grow I have 4 massive Leo's and you will come across health issues so don't be frightened just enjoy watching him/her grow your thoughts will never be from your loss but your heart can be with your new one!
