Hi,
We have a young leopard, around 1 years old (119 grams) and his nose has recently started running, he’s still eating normally and pooing but he is sleeping more.
We have a vets appointment later in the week and for now we’ve upped his baths and have used Reptoboost in a few of them and in his drinking water. Is there anything else we should be doing for now?? He’s our first tortoise and we are very worried about him.

Thank you in advance x

We need more info.

What are your temps? Basking, cool side, night, and ambient?

What substrate do you use?

What is your humidity?

Could we we see pictures of your tortoise and enclosure?

Up the temp to no lower then 85 all over with still a 95-100 basking.
I would not visit a vet just yet. They can do more damage then good. They don't know much about tortoises. Some times a running nose is nothing.
Keep the heat up for a week and if it doesn't get better or anything gets worse like stops eating etc then a vet visit might be needed.
In the mean time figure out why it got a funny nose. Is your temps and humidity correct? Are you letting him roam the floor of your house? It's colder on the floor. Check out the care and housing threads for leopards and sulcatas as they are the same and adjust where needed.

Hi, ambient temperature in his enclosure is around 32-33 degrees Celsius at the moment. Basking spot is currently 55-60 degrees Celsius on the slate temperature, humidity is between 60-80% and his substrate is sterilised topsoil. It’s been like this for a few days and we’ve seen him sneeze once before his nose started to run. He’s still eating everything in site, hasn’t lost any weight and has been having around 2-3 soaks a day. He is not allowed to roam and is only ever in his indoor enclosures or secure outdoor enclosure with supervision. I’ve read all the care sheets and think we’re doing everything okay for him, just a little disheartening that he’s got sick

Runny Nose's with leopard tortoises are common and can be very difficult to eliminate. In my experience, your best bet is to improve the conditions. Though a round of antibiotics may (I would start with nose drops rather than an injection) make the symptoms go away for a while, if the conditions aren't correct, it will come back quickly.

Your ambient temperature of 33c is OK. Your basking spot of 60c is way too hot for a tortoise that small. 43c is more than hot enough for a basking spot. You mention your humidity is 60 to 80%. The upper end of that range is fine, but you will find, especially with a 60c basking area, that the humidity is MUCH lower around the basking area.

Can you post pictures of your enclosure please.
