What the heck is VBS?

That looks like a lot of fun!!

VBS stands for Vacation Bible School. It's a summer day camp put on by a Christian Church. This particular day camp only had about 100 kiddos. I've participated in VBS as large as 1,500 kiddos.

Is Levi done growing? I have a Leopard, he's about 10 now, and not nearly that large. How much does he weigh?

Technically, reptiles never stop growing. Although their pace slows significantly, so Levi will never grow to the size of a large sulcata!
His 2022 summer stats are: 25lbs and 17.5"

And the only picture I have (a parent sent it to me) from my critter show. It was one of the classroom activities each group rotated through.
Here I have Oliver the cockatiel hopping from finger to finger. The show also featured the macaw, Levi the leopard tortoise of course, hornworms, cockroaches and a pigeon.

Today, my 10 year old leopard tortoise, Levi joined me for a pirate themed VBS...hence the reason I'm dressed as a pirate!

We had a brief spiel on the stage during the morning rally, 2 presentations during the activity sessions and closed it out with some meet & greet photos.

After a long health journey (sparing the details) it felt good to be "back at it" to some degree.


Of course what's a pirate without a parrot? So my blue & gold macaw and pigeon have joined the adventure, too!
