Hi everyone! I'm looking to buy a light timer for my hatchling so I can make sure his light is being turned on/off at the correct time- especially if I happen to sleep in!
Does anyone have any product recommendations or are they all pretty much the same?
Also, the light fixture (clamp lamp) has a switch on it to turn the light on/off. Will a timer still work with that?

I just buy the cheapest one the hardware store sells. Then you set it for the times you want the light to be on, plug it in, plug your light into it and turn your light on... and voila! When the timer reaches the time to turn off the light, it stops the electricity from going to the turned-on light.

the cheapest one usually looks like a box with a dial on it. Pretty much it has a bunch of groves for little tabs that will flip a switch stopping the flow of electricity. thats the kind i've always had. they work good, and cheap, under 10 dollars

My mom gave me one of those cheap box ones with the dial but it looks really ghetto :p
I guess I'll see if it works though, after spending hundreds of dollars on my new tortoise and his enclosure I should try to save a little money!

yeah, I think most of us use that ghetto box, ha. I'm sure you can find a better looking one, but they get more pricey and the only thing your going to get is more accurcy, Some will turn on and off by the second, the Grey box is not accurate, but you can get a pretty close 12/12 cycle, or 12/14 cycle,
