Lighting distance

Hi guys ,
I've purchased a UVA/ heat basking lamp for my Yoshi , however I'm wondering how far I should place it from the floor of the tortoise table.

There is a limit to the distance that the UV,UVA will reach. Maybe 8-12", However, just as important is the temperature directly under the lamp at that distance. Get yourself a proper digital thermometer or laser thermometer to find out.
What type of tortoise? They have different needs as far as heat and such....

Oh thanks , mines a horsefield tortoise and she's 8 months old , I imagine she'll need a good amount of heat and UVA to grow

Horsefield is a tortoise I know next to nothing about. Luckily for you, there are MANY folks here that do. And they'll be here soon. As soon as the rest of the world wakes up.
