They should have darkness at night, just like they would in the wild. However depending on your temps, you may need to give them heat. That is where the CHE comes in (ceramic heat emitter) heat no light.

i am using che and red light at night, however, I find CHE only focus on one spot,
sometime, my lucky doesn't sleep on the spot where the CHE hang above to provide heat, so I added the red light . so he can sleep wherever he wants with enough heat
