I found these at Home Depot and Lowes. Should have some new growth to feed out in a couple of months.

A new kind of Opuntia. Well, new to me. Its mostly spineless, but with a few really big, easy to deal with spines.

This is the one Yvonne posted the other day. I got three of them. They are very fragile and break easily, but I'm told they propagate easily, so I'm propagating all the broken pieces too.

I took a pic of this one too, but I can't find it. Here's the label anyway. When I looked up Sedum, I saw that there are A LOT of types and species. Is this one okay to feed?

The one thing about the prior owners of my house...they grew the right stuff...I've got Elephant bush too...stop laughing:p Does the Quimilo have small spines in addition to the 5'' spines?

No. Only those big giant ones. And there are only a few. Easy to clip or just break off.

I just bought an elephant bush though much smaller than yours. I will have to look for the opuntia, I have some "spineless" that does not have the large spines but has those tiny ones (I would prefer the big ones, much easier to take off).

Do your torts like the elephant bush? Do you feed the soft stems or just the little pads? How fast does it grow? Never fed that one. I've still not tried the ice plant either.

From Northern Argentina and Bolivia? That would be Taco's native "backyard".

I must see if they're available here.
