I would like to apologize to the group for losing my temper. I should have not said anything, I'm sorry.
This group is just not the way we have been in the past. We made friends and we all appreciated each other. I am sorry for that, I miss it.
But I really am sorry if I offended anyone with either my language or my teasing about the car. In my defense he has a car as his avatar, so I thought teasing about hot rods would be acceptable. I was wrong and I'm sorry. Please accept my apology, I should have been more careful in what I said.
But you guys need to loosen up. What happened to being friendly and making friends and teasing and just enjoying each other? Don't be so uptight.

That thread had gone in a negative direction do to the opossum.
I don't think your car had any bearing on it.

I think you should post your car anywhere you want. tortoiseforum stays on topic and adding a little bit of personality to the thread only makes it more personable and interesting to keep the discussion going.

you're a great contributor to the forum, if you want to talk some talk about your car who cares if someone does get uptight.

Hi Maggie. I could tell your were just messing with him. Try not to let it bother you too much. People always get upset on message boards because nobody can look at the other person to see if they are kidding/poking fun/sarcastic/etc.

Sooooo, I had that same car! Well it was my sisters and it was an 84 but man did it haul!!! The best thing about it was taking a sharp curve. It was always glued to the ground. Fun car for sure.

Here is my contribution. Its a 1972 GMC Jimmy. Its my weekend car/project. Its not nearly as fast as yours, but its fast. It also has a 350 that has been "built". I am really into welding and love working on old cars.

You dont have to apologize. YOU DID NOTHING WRONG, you made a joke and you showed us your car (a really nice car by the way), what is the big deal! You are a very great member on this forum, you always have a good comments to add, or good jokes and you always give very good advices. Vader is not even insulted by your post, I am sure he knows you were just joking

i think most of the negative was coming from meg, but i think that thread took a turn for the worse and the car comment could have been taken out of context

That's not going to happen. Because I am not sorry for what I said. I am tired of people thinking they can lay claim to whatever they come across. Nature is not there for us to use it as we see fit. Wild animals are NOT playthings.

A family friend of mine runs a rescue for wildlife. a licensed rescue. And until you see over a hundred motherless baby coons, brought in and forced to be raised in a dog run because the people didn't want more raccoons on their property so they robbed the nest....and tens and tens of little fawns, each needing to be bottle fed because most of them were "found" without their mothers and said to have been abandoned...It makes you heart sick. She sees HUNDREDS of babies every summer. And their stories are all the same.

I am tired of seeing rabbit nests robbed, and baby squirrels forced to be pets until their true nature emerges, and then tossed aside.

Have you ever heard a little squirrel cry for its mother? Its one of the saddest sounds I've heard... Those orphaned Fawns will suckle at whatever they can reach, wanting for a mother's attention and the baby raccoons fight each other for food even though there is enough to go around.

Adult animals are also surrendered and forced to live out their lives in cages because of their aggression towards their previous owners but also for their inability to be WILD creatures. Their "owners" rob them of everything they need to survive without human aid.

To say you re homed that baby opossum because someone was allergic to it, and NOT because it was the right thing to do makes my heart hurt. It makes me angry.

So no, I am not going to apologize.

Meg, I know you are a passionate person especially when it come to animals, but lets not forget that what was on his utube video that was not posted with his torts should have stayed on the utube site. So should your comments on anything other than the torts.

I apologized to the group for my language. You, on the other hand, called me a bully, that was a personal attack on me, and for me that's what started my part of it. You have said that was not a personal attack, but I just don't see how you can believe that. Calling someone a bully IS a personal attack. I was making a teasing challenge to Vader who lives in Lexington Kentucky. There is no chance of racing him considering I am on the West Coast and he's on the East Coast. I was being friendly, *my* kind of friendly. You came on and accused me of being a bully and possibly chasing him away and causing his hatchling to die. FYI, he does not yet have a Sulcata, he is still looking. You stuck your nose into a discussion between me and someone else, it was not your business.
I think you need to look at your part and see what you did to cause this. I was going to leave the group because of my actions and because of people like you who have taken the friendly part out of the forum, but I have had several people ask me to stay and so I am going to. I have looked at what happened and have taken ownership of my part of the problem. Now I think YOU need to look at YOUR part in this and YOU need to take ownership at what you said and did.
Don't be pointing fingers at Meg, she is none of your business. You need to take ownership of your own actions and stay out of other people's business.
FYI, my apology does not include you, until I see that you can take ownership of what you did and the effect you had on starting a disagreement and getting that thread closed.
Now I am not going to fight with you and I am done with this topic. I know who you are and exactly where you are coming from and I will watch my back around you. Now I am thru, and I mean it when I say I am done, I won't make another comment about this topic. I am moving on.

The apology was good for the language, And personally i dont care if there is fighting what gets me is when we get so off topic, lol.. but its a forum its hard to actually tell if its a joke or not... and if its a attack or not, typing just does not have the same effect as if you were talking... there will be a lot of misunderstanding, and the best thing to do is either solve it in a pm... and or just ignore it... and keep the tread on track... everyone here is here to share there opinions and help out people that might not know certain things... We shouldnt attack anyone and we shouldnt call people new and avoid them... and we should really try and keep it on track, I know i'm new here and i've heard it from people that i'm new, but i'm not new to tortoises or turtles.. i'm not even new to turtle/tortoise forums... just this forum.. I just ignore it and move on, and i know it can be hard for people to try and fit in to forums because people in forums really do because friends and almost family like, everything is a learning experience and it can only make things better... i hope i dont get crap for posting this, i know i'm new still and might not even have a say but i like to type, ha..
