Hi all - I was told this was a female, but wasn't 100 percent sure. Please weigh in.

How big is she? At eight, she looks small.
Poor care that slows growth, will also slow the sexually maturity and they can look female longer than they should.

It's a girl
We can't tell from these pictures. If this is an 8 year old tortoise, it is very undersize and still immature. It is not showing the secondary sexual characteristics that usually show up when they reach about 16-18 inches with should happen within 2-3 years with proper care.
Can you get a picture of the tail? Males have large tails, females have tiny nubs. All of them look female as juveniles.
