And look at how much they've grown since I first joined, and they were like an inch and a half long. LOL Now they are 6 1/2" and 6" respectively.

Hard to say just yet.
The one on the right in the shot of the two plastrons appears to be a female. The anal scutes of the left tortoise has me leaning towards saying male. But, their secondary sex characteristics (simply put, the obvious long tail of a male, the concave plastron, etc) may become quite evident with the next half inch of growth.
Really, that fast.

thanks much. They are growing so quickly now it seems. I guess I should name them. LOL Oh, another question - the one who appears to be female is at least a half-inch longer, heavier than the other one. Is that indicative of anything except a healthy appetite?

Good question Karen. Could be a combination of factors such as the sex, the genetic potential, individuality and so on.
My guess is that it will continue to be the larger of the two.

The plastrons are concaved like a male but the tails look like female?

Thanks Merv
