Hey there,
I work at an exotic animal rescue (as the receptionist) and I had someone drop off their Pet sulcata named Winston. The owner was going away to school and could not bring him with her. Well when they arrived here I was horrified to see the state this poor guy was in, apparently they only ever fed him romain lettuce & Cacium powder, his shell is just so malfomed I tear up everytime I look at him or think about him. What I want to know is, can proper diet and habitat eventually help his shell fill out properly? We feed all our tortoises a variety of veggies & friut and they get lots of Hay & of course love & excersise. If anyone can suggest anything that could help I would greatly appreciate it. We have had lots of Turtles and Tortoises brought to us over the years, but never anything in such a sad state. He doesn't have a runny nose or bad poops, so I do not think he has an infection of any sort. I'd post a pic, but I am new to this & have no idea how.
