I keep Marginata's in the UK, and have been breeding them since 2007, from adults I raised from hatchlings and juveniles.
They are a very underrated species.

Here is our new yearling! "Mr. T" for now until our son is old enough to give him a proper name.ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1431972088.877314.jpg

I am looking for a female for my male. Are you able to ship into Canada? Or do you know of anyone with the ability to?

I have one adult male margie and a few from hatchling to yearling in size with hopes to find a female to breed with my male. I just got all of mine this year but have been wanting them for several years.

Hey! I'm a new T. marginata owner living in central Texas. This last weekend I purchased my two month-old hatchling, Oliver. In addition to being my friend, Oliver is helping me with a scientific study I'm doing as part of my PhD. If you are interested in dabbling in paleontology, check out my post titled "Would You Like to Help with a Study" in "General Tortoise Discussion." Good to be here!Oliver.jpg

I have a margie. Such a cheeky little chap he is 8 months old now. Getting his summer bachelor pad ready for when the weather is best for him to go outside.

What average size are the marginated torts at birth, yearling, 3 years? Just curious of their size and growth rate. Figured you all can help with this answer since yours are all different ages and sizes.

I got my little margie a week and a half ago and i am just smitten! It has been awesome so far, it has such a wonderful personality already :)

This is a picture when i got it in the mail. I will load
a picture of my enclosure and the little booger in the am. It is tucked into bed and my enclosure has changed since my first setup. It did not like the coconut coir, it was bugging its eyes, but now with topsoil, peat and a top layer of cypress mulch he is doing extremely well. I have been following Chris' s caresheet to a T and it is working great.

my margie ( haven't name it yet) after a few hours in its outdoor digs back in its inside enclosure. It was 80 outside today so perfect weather for all my torts. I have a basking lamp at 95, floursent 10.0 zoo med straight tube fixture attached to the wall, a 100 watt ceramic emitter for nights keeps him at mid to low 70's on the side it burrows in. Humidity stays in the 70's with one - two mists a day. The range of temps is from 95 to 75 so it can regulate what temps are best for it. So far it is eating, drinking and pooping well. Still wants to sleep and hide some but is out quite a bit during the days.
very active and curious little margie. Thanks to buttercups mom i was able to make that outdoor setup fast and easy. it's safe and sound in that tote while outside and i can move it around with the sun . :)
