SUPERJON!!! That's a great username. Hello and welcome.

You've gotten great advice above. I agree with just about every statement. There are a few things that would help us to give you better advice.

1. What specific type of UV bulb are you using and how high is it mounted? There are so many types and ways to use them.
2. What are you feeding? There are many many lists. Some are good and others not so good.
3. How often are you doing the calcium on the food. Should be no more than 2 or three times a week in small amounts.
4. Its summer time. Does your tortoise have a large outdoor enclosure for sunning, exercising and grazing on weeds?

Here are a couple of threads that should help you:

Hi Tom! Thankyou for the warm welcome!

I'll reply properly later as out at the moment, but we've got all the recommended items (including the recommended lights), he gets three good soaks a week, we sprinkle calcium on his food twice a week - the only thing we lack is getting him outside enough but that's due to circumstance. We have put him in the garden a few times when it's sunny though - but we're looking to improve this :)

I've looked at pics of other russian's and Marty's shell looks very similar to me. He's a very happy chappy and has bags of personality, we love him a lot!
