Mediterranean tortoise diet? (UK)

Hi guys,

Inherited my grandparents Mediterranean tortoise and am wondering what food I can give her.

I've been giving her Dandelions and Clover as well as Sowthistle etc but am wanting to expand her diet abit.

There are sites saying what she can have but some dont say what part of the plant they can eat (Flowers , leaves etc)

Hope someone can help?

Food for most Testudo are the same so the care sheet should give you most of your answers for basic care.

The best diet would be a wide variety of broadleaf weeds of the correct type. Barring that, endive or escarole from the store, mixed with a good pelleted diet or other "toppers" can deliver good variety and nutrition to your tortoise. Also look for mulberry, grape and rose of sharon leaves. Some ethnic stores will also sell spineless opuntia cactus pads and these are also excellent tortoise food.
