I saw two light brown mites on one of my turtles. They were moving very fast and not just 'hanging out' like I've seen them do on snakes. It
s the first time I've seen them. I also have live plants in my enclosure that have suddenly started looking shabby. Do these sound like some sort of plant mites, or reptile mites?

Anyone? :/

This was on my small female EBT. My gulf female doesn't seem to have any on her, and my male is too shy to inspect for them.

Are you sure it was a mite? And only 2?

Could it have been a spring tail? I get these in my indoor enclosures. I add pill bugs to keep their population down.

Seeing only 2, I wouldn't worry.

I'm thinking Springtails or something. I couldn't find any on my male EBT either, when I finally coaxed him out of his shell. Then I checked Minerva, the little EBT that I thought I saw the mites on, and saw nothing. She saw buried the first time I saw the "mites". I think it's just some little critter living in the soil.

I also have springtails in my indoor enclosure. I just leave them alone since they aren't harmful.
