I've been seeing a lot of pictures of sulcatas on the forum and realized that MoMo's shell is far darker than any other i have seen. This worries me. Is this due to his previous lack of nutrition or is this just the way he is? and should i do something to correct it?

I agree, he is just on the darker side. He looks just fine!

mine are both dark like yours. i think they are born that way because i have had them from birth, and they have always been dark.

There is certainly a color range and Momo is totally normal and within that range. She looks a lot like my Daisy. This pic is from Sept. 2010. She used to be fairly light, but she's been getting darker and darker. All the new healthy growth is coming in very dark. She's actually much darker than this now.

has he been outside a lot? do you live in a colder climate?
a few months ago he would never go outside and never left his 30gal tank. after i got him, he's outside about 3-4 hours every day. and i live in southern california. it's in the high eighties right now.

also, thanks all for the information. it's good to know that it isn't an issue.

Tom, Daisy looks so soft! amazing.
