I have what was sold to me about a year ago as a red cheek mud turtle but also I have been told she is a red cheek instead. I would like some identification help and some reassurance that I’ve got her enclosure correct bc I feel I may not have everything exactly right due to some places on her shell may not be quite right. Any help at all would be amazing because it’s been a little difficult to get clarification on some things. Just let me know what you need and I will provide it to the best of my ability

That is a Kinosternon scorpioides albogulare, or a white-throated mud turtle. They are similar to red-cheek mud turtles but are larger, have a more keeled carapace, slightly less red color, and the clinching feature---a rear plastron hinge that curves upward like a smile. In red-cheeks, or K. s. cruentatum, this hinge is straight across.
The care for both is similar, warm conditions. White-throated mud turtles will also spend a lot of time on land if given the opportunity.
