I'm converting a dresser that measures 48x30 into an enclosure for my baby red foots. I want to add a second level. What's the easiest way to do this? Can you please post some pictures of double level cages so I can get ideas?
Thank you!

Take a look in the enclosure section, there might be a couple double layer enclosures there. Most seem to put a small loft really on one short side. If it were me, I would put a second level around the whole inside upper perimeter.

Seems like an easy way to double the square footage, but heating and lighting might be problematic?

The idea in my head, was more like a ledge around the whole inside. Where many build a little edge on one end. Wouldn't quite double the square footage, but would add more space then just one end. If a Che was placed under the ledge, besides heating over the opened center space and adding a top, it might not be too hard to heat. I haven't done it, so it might not work as easy as I'm thinking. It would have to be played with to get the temps good for sure.
