My New girl....

I was visiting my 3yo neice and we needed to run some errands.....
PetSmart was on the list. There are never any Torts in petstores by me so I was not thinking about it.
We walked around and she spotted a pretty little light female and shouted
"We have to save her!!"

Being the good aunt I am, I obliged

I asked tons of questions about where she came from.
They said she was from a farm NOT WILD CAUGHT!
Not sure I believe them since when I asked them to prove
it they seemed confused and "not sure what I ment"
but she is sweet and very friendly! Glad I have her.

What a pretty tort. Usually I don't like the light coloration on Russians, but when it is the vast majority like that, it looks nice!

If she is from Petco or Petsmart, she is WC. Sometimes they 'fence off' wild areas in their native countries and call them a farm.
Regardless, she is pretty and lucky to have fallen into good hands!

I thought you were finding your Russians new homes! anyway, do you find her to be feisty at all, or more than your average colored or darker Russians? I find my female "blonde" is very aggressive. Maybe just an individual personality thing, maybe not.

Very seldom have a seen a healthy tort at a pet store like yours All ive seen, especially recently, show signs of bone disease (very flat shells) and dehydration. Though i love when torts in need are 'saved' from bad situations im happy for u and ur little one.

If i ever get more torts i may actually look for the ones who need a little more help and T.L.C. i quite enjoyed nursing my hatchling. A pain but worth it. Maybe start a rescue of some kind in the future. I know i know...im rambling lol

And i agree about checking for worms. Pet stores arent always the most sanitary
