Back on Oct 12 one of my younger red foots laid three eggs in my outdoor
enclosure. The were laying on the cypress mulch and each egg was in a
different spot. Reading that when eggs are laid on top of soil there is a good
chance they are not fertile. Anyway they were placed in my incubator and
thought I had nothing to loose. Last Saturday when I checked on other eggs
that were laid two weeks ago it was noticed that one of the three eggs
were splitting on both sides and I could see a yoke type goo in side and figured the egg was rotten, On Monday coming home I thought I better get
that rotted egg out of the incubator before is contaminated the other eggs/
And low and behold there was a small red foot laying outside the egg I thought was bad then yesterday another of the three eggs broke open and
this morning there was another, nothing from the third egg yet any way I
was and am so excited and have been keeping them warm and hydrated, hope I can keep them going. I have taken pictures of them in and out of egg and
have them on my Iphone as soon as i can figure out how to post the pictures
I will.
keep them going
