He is actually pure Louisiana gulf coast, just a beautiful rare coloration. He is roughly five years old and still has some growing to do. He sits right at 6 inches. I have more box turtles at my parents and brothers houses but most are at my place. Good thing I have a wife and six kids because it allows me to keep more =) lol.

Check out this hatchling that hatched today from the same parents as this fella. Looks like ill have another stunner on my hands!!

His shell is kept clean from frequent day long soaks. You can do that with gulf coast. Plus this guy doesn't like the mud like some of my other gulf coast.

I never knew boxies could be so beautiful until I started seeing their pictures on TFO. If it wasn't for their diets I'd have a group of them, too!! But I like the "leaf eaters" :shy:

Team Gomberg alot of mine have really taken a liking to mazuri diet and are growing just beautifully. I'm not sure if you use mazuri for your torts but if so most box turtles adjust quickly to it.

Team Gomberg alot of mine have really taken a liking to mazuri diet and are growing just beautifully. I'm not sure if you use mazuri for your torts but if so most box turtles adjust quickly to it.

I use Mazuri with all my tortoises.I just couldn't handle feeding worms and bugs...

I got ya covered lol.

Soon ill be doing a group soak and examination where I soak and carefully examine each turtle just to make sure nothing is going unnoticed. I try to do that at least four or five times a year. It's just hard to find them all at one time since I keep them in a really large very natural habitat. It takes several hours lol
