Please can someone give me advice. I recently bought my baby horsefield tort, he is only 3 months old. I've only had him for nearly 4 weeks however I noticed bubbles would sometimes develop in his eyes and he would try to wipe them throughout the day so I took him straight to the vet and it turns out he has tested positive for mycoplasma. I'm absolutely devastated, I love the wee guy so much already and I don't want to lose him 😥 the vet showed me how to administer the oral antibiotic into his mouth and I've to do this daily for 3 weeks however it took 2 different vets to get his head out from his shell and open his mouth, he looked so distressed and I don't know how I'm going to manage considering the vets both struggled! Is there another solution? I've heard they can get an antibiotic injection so I'm not sure why it was not offered? I'm really worried about my baby tort, can someone who is familiar with mycoplasma please give me advice or reassurance that's he's going to be OK. I'm been worried sick all day about it and I'm dreading trying to give him the oral antibiotic tomorrow as it clearly stresses him out 😔
