Need a new heater for outdoor house

We just finished building Satchel a new winter house but I’m finding that the heater we got is having a hard time keeping the temp up when it gets cold out.

We currently have this heater in his house hooked up to the inkbird thermostat. We’re considering getting something like this instead, but I worry this style would crap out after a few months of intense use.

Do you think we’d be better off going with a higher wattage oil heater and adding a computer fan to circulate air?

There are a couple other adjustments we want to make to his house. We’re going to add insulation panels across the roof joists to make a ceiling and add insulation behind the window covering.

There is insulation in the floors, walls, and roof panels.

Here are some pics of his house. It’s 8x8 ft for a 120lb, 13 year old sulcata.

If one oil filled heater isn’t enough consider using two on two separate thermostats for redundancy. I’ve had two cheap Amazon thermostats fail on me now.
you will have to watch your electrical load though unless you ran more than one circuit.

For a nice big Sully like urs, you should think about adding in a nice large 20x20” Kane heat matt on the floor. Hook the mat to ur thermostat & your tort can move off & on or near or far to find a good temperature.

I like using RHPs on the ceiling and a nice Kane-type heat mat on the floor. Our Sully seems to like this arrangement.

Great idea!! I need to go get some fresh hay from the farm store anyway, I’ll see if they have some heat mats in stock.
