Hello everyone! I have a year and a half old Redfoot, named Tortellini. I'm working on a new enclosure but have struggled with ideas for a good strong base. I have a 6x3x1 above ground planter box with a matching greenhouse top. I also have and plan on using a fairly lightweight pond liner to line it. I've come across a twin bed frame from IKEA made from pine, that is off the ground. It's 79"x 41" so it should fit pretty well with a couple inches to spare. Just looking for input on how to best make a nice home for my buddy!

Hello there! Been quite a while since we last spoke! Hope you and your little one have been doing well!🥰

I think last time we interacted, I hadn’t yet made these threads, I think you’ll like them as you’re getting a new set up together😊definitely line it so there’s no direct contact with the pine wood, it can emit toxic fumes under direct heat, it should be fine lined, you can get decent quality pond lining on Amazon quite cheap.

This one has a bunch of information you’re already aware of now, but if you scroll down there’s lots of visuals for how to hang your lights etc for the kind of set up you’re planning

There’s also a bunch of nice visuals in this one that might come in handy!

Hope you like them!🐢💚

Hello!

Brand new Animal Plastics 6x3x2 PVC enclosure is 600$. At our local IKEA this bed is whopping 465$... If you have the same prices, it's not worth it. But something cheaper, e.g. SLAKT bed base with a double set of planks is probably fine.

I use a 6'x2.5 ' wooden tort table with a greenhouse over it...I also had a 1950's era extremely heavy wooden coffee table...I say you are on the right track...my only difference is I stapled a shower curtain liner in it...
The whole thing stays about 90% humidity and because the greenhouse is bigger than the tort table the humidity drips down the sides and onto the floor...hence the pink noodles...lol and it stays at 85 degrees...

I also post this too...you can see the humidity...DSCN2330.JPG
and I wish I had thought of the bed frame! Way to go!
