New baby sees reflection

Hi,

I have my new Hermann's hatchling and he/she's so cool. Was burrowed in most of the day after arrival and a soak. Has woken up and eaten a bit. Has been exploring the enclosure. He/she is very active right now - of course when it's supposed to be lights out soon....anyway....the torty can see itself in the glass. I have cardboard around the enclosure on the outside of the walls. Can still see reflections on inside. My baby is going to be in this enclosure for a while, so I can make modifications. Should I line the inside walls with the cardboard instead?

Thanks,
Jami

Does it seem to bother him/her that they see the reflection? If not, I wouldn't cover it. Covering it with the cardboard on the inside won't last very long anyway. Maybe plant some plants around the outer edges of the inside. This will help to disguise the reflection

Hi,
Yes it seems to bother him in that he stops and stares and then pushes at the glass, sometimes with feet, other times with beak. I know he was housed with his siblings, so maybe he thinks he's seeing them. It is a nice bright reflection! I have to figure out the plants. I think I could plant some plantain from my yard. I'm going to flea markets and Amish stores next Wednesday so I may be able to find organic plants there. I just should get seeds and get things started. I foolishly thought I could just rinse plants I bought and stick them in there....thanks again!
