I have a new baby spur thigh a few months old. Seems to always have trouble opening his eyes. Plus he is sleeping a lot, is this normal?

Babies do sleep a lot, but do check your temperatures amd let us know what they are. Too hot or too cold and your tort will be inactive.

Is your spur thigh african or mediteranean (testudo)?

Hi johnkarabas:

Welcome to the Tortoise Forum!!

What would you like for us to call you?

Also, when we know approximately where you are, it helps us design our answers to better fit your problem.

I'm guessing that if your baby is having trouble opening his eyes, there is something wrong with the way your have him set up. It would help us to give you better information if you will tell us all about your tortoise set up. Maybe even send us a picture of it.
