Why do you need to go to the vet? Post some photos of the underside of the tortoise, and a photo of when he possibly flashed, and we should be able to tell you without wasting money on a vet exam.

Or does that help? I thought it was female as the shell is quite flat underneath.

The u or v shape in the back indicates sex correct? But is it different from species to species. ( the internet would say yes)
