New Russian Tortoise owner

Hi everybody! I've just got an adorable Russian tortoise, female and captive bred (at least that I was told..) Her name is Shelly :shy: She's about 5 inches long now. Although she's been very curious and active at the store we bought it from, the moment I brought her home all she wanted to do is bury herself and sleep. Didn't eat or drink anything...Well, I hope she'll pass the shyness stage and come out soon! We keep her on a patio where she can roam free, through plants and pots, occasionally bring her in the front yard to walk on grass and only at night we put her in the tank.

Hi and welcome, not only to TFO but to the educational and enjoyable world of tortoise keeping. I don't know what the patio is set up like, but just a standard word of caution with Russians, they are great escape artists, so be sure her enclosures are escape proof. So how did you decide on a Russian?
