Hi everyone,

In an attempt to keep Donny entertained I have mad him a new indoor home out of a large 1m x75m dog bed. The plastic formed bed was a perfect solution as it's deep enough that I could build different layers for him to explore. Anyway as you can see from the picture I currently only have a 100w basking bulb and am worried about how I can fix a strip uvb bulb to the enclosure. Am I right in thinking they have to be about 10-12" from the substrate? If that's the case where I have different levels should I just hang it over the middle of the table or try secure it to the side?
Any advise would be appreciated ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1399122043.133670.jpg

Nice looking habitat. Is that basking light a UVB bulb? I'd get a bell/cone shaped fixture for it. That would direct the heat more downward and leave it over the same spot. Put it about 12 inches over the substrate and call it a good job...

Thanks, no it's just a normal basking heat lamp 100w I did originally have a combine 160w uvb/ heat lamp but he didn't like it I think it was to hot despite me trying different heights. I will try a cone thanks
