Last year after Black Friday I adopted a hatchling redfoot tortoise. Her name is Finn (guessing her with flat bottom shell and small tail). I just moved into a house and am going to be finally upgrading into a custom 3 foot wide by 6 foot long enclosure. Attached are images of my tortoise and current enclosure.
Specs of current enclosure:
40”x 20”
150watt ceramic infrared heat emitter
Repti sun 5.0 18 inch uvb bulb.
Exo Terra fake plants
Exo Terra large feeding dish as watering bowl
Cork wood as extra hide and change of substrate
Cypress mulch and sphagnum moss
Sprayed down twice a day with mister to average 70 to 75% humidity.
Fed a mix of spring mix, romaine lettuce, cactus pad, occasional carrots, mango, and mazuri tortoise diet.
She hides a lot not coming out much at all which I know is common for her age. I’m guessing around 15 to 18 months old.
She will pick around almost all other food and only go after mazuri tortoise diet along with a small amount of green leaves.
I know I threw a lot of info out there but I really care about my tortoise a lot and want to make sure I am doing everything I can to give her a happy healthy life. And now would be the best time to make changes with new enclosure being planned out.
