Hi I bought a new horse field tortoise two days ago, I was told it is around six months old. I am keeping it in a tortoise table with a heat lamp and uv lamp. Temperature under heat lamp is around 30-32 degrees C and the other end of the table is around 20 degrees C. On the first day my tortoise was very active and ate quite a lot of dandelion. That night the tortoise went into its little hut and has stayed there ever since other than me waking it up to bath it and feed it, it has now not ate for around 24 hours. Been under its hut sleeping 95% of the two and a half days. I am really worried please help?? Thanks

He always sleep because the whether is too cold I think. Did you soak him or give him UVB?

Thankyou for the replies. There is a UVB light on 10-12 hours a day along with heat/basking lamp. Soaked him in warm water for 5-10 minutes yesterday and he then had a poo. However seen as it is in its hide all of the time sleeping it is not getting the light from the UV or heat from the heat lamp. I am assuming if the tortoise is cold it would seek over to the heat lamp spot?
