New Tort!

So this guy is my boyfriends moms sisters who just moved into a retirement home. He was born in June of 1986. He has paperwork and a license! Crazy! According to his papers, he is of Gopherus species. Does anyone else have a tort like him?

He looks like he might be a cross between a desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) and a Texas tortoise (Gopherus berlandieri). Yes...there are many, many desert tortoise keepers here on the forum!

Set him up outside in a nice, large area and he'll be just fine. And keep him away from other species of tortoise. California's tortoises are great little tortoises, and very personable.

Beautiful tortoise! I had a couple of CB 40 year olds just about a year or so ago, one of the best species out there!
