Hi! I'm new to the forum, I've had experience with a lot of turtles and I'd like to expand my home to Tortoises! Sulcatas seem to have the most personality, and I want a turtle for life and beyond. I live in Fort Worth, Texas.

Hello and Welcome:) I know you would like to be adding a sully to your family soon. Check out Toms threads below in my post and also, all the other great threads on Sulcatas. Then you can be prepared for when you find your new friend.

I'm in San Antonio. Soon to move to Dallas. Neat to see more people in TX. :) Welcome! I have a sully. She's great. Also you might want to look into Leopards or Hermann's. Their care is very similar and they do not get as large as a sulcata. Depends what you're looking for:) I just didn't realize what I was getting into when I got a sulcata in how big she was going to get haha but I fell for her so I have made accommodations. Just wanted to throw that out there. But welcome!

Hi and Welcome from Houston. There are quite a few of us from Texas who have a variety of Tortoises and Turtles. Feel free to ask us about our experience raising them here.

Welcome to the forum, I keep an eastern hermanns tort, awesome little guy and their smaller size makes them a manageable first tortoise in my opinion :) just my £0.02 worth

Hi and welcome from Florida. As a side note, if you have a dog, or plan on getting a dog, please read the thread written by Tom. It's a must read!

Already read, it's a very touching story, I don't have a dog and don't plan on getting one in the near future.
