Hello.

I am BigBiscuit, and I just received a Greek Tortoise as a present for my child. I am totally new to tortoises, but I have been diligently studying. I was wondering though, the only thing I need is a UVB light. Can that wait a month, or is it a very time sensitive thing to have.

Thanks

It's more time sensitive, if you have a hatching rather then an adult...or one with a soft shell.

Sounds like you have my kind of child. :D

Welcome to the forum BigBiscuit. Jacqui gave you sound advice. If you are not using a UVB light use Calcium with D3 until you get the light then change over to Calcium without D3. :)

Thank you to everyone. Crazy1, I just went and purchased some "Rep-Cal" Calcium with D3. Thanks for the tip. I am currently using Repti-Bark for substrate. Any advice? It looks like the feelings in the forum are mixed.
