With my young leopard...maybe 10-11 months...should I keep my CHE on all night. That's my only heat source. I want a night time temp...but it would get down to room temp about 70° if I turn it off. With it on my warm side is 100° and cool 75°. I don't want to over heat him...but don't want to get him to cool.

Get a $26 thermostat. Set your CHE on it and forget it. It will maintain your ambient for you 24/7. Your tortoise will never get too cool and it will never over heat.

Sit there and watch your thermometer and plug or unplug your CHE as needed... :p

Until I got 2 thermostats (for CHE at each end), i actually DID sit there and watch my thermo, unplugging and plugging in as necessary!
