odd nodding behavior in 3-toed

I saw he was out on the surface of his coir and started talking to him, whereupon he would nod for a while, then stop. Then i would say his name again, and the same thing would happen.
So i got my camera.
I presume this is not the usual territorial head bobbing i've seen vids of. His neck is not as far out, the movements are smaller.
Also the nods are synchronized with short breaths that inflate and deflate his neck

Well, he's 2 years old and this is the first i've seen of this.

I find they pump their throats a little harder like that when they are smelling something. It looks pretty normal to me too.

Smelling my halitosis, i guess. He would only do it after i talked to him, and then he would stop after a while, and start again when i spoke.
