I'm laughing at myself as I can now see you've put this thread in 'Tortoise Diet and Food'. I bought a few powders and dried items recently that I wanted to make sure were organic. Pesticides are always a concern when the products aren't specifically produced for tortoises.

I look for species variety. Maybe "try some" small amounts for a couple of feedings. I would like dried food for box turtles. Is it safe for box turtles to eat the crumble or the cactus powder? My tortoises enjoy your food. Thank you

I'm curious. No not that way, I wonder why on some things.

I made a poll, for a simple dichotomy. But what kinds of things do you consider when selecting foods?
I don't see your poll Will.

Things I consider when selecting tortoise foods:
Calcium, fiber, moisture, and nutrient content.
Price.
Availability.
Practicality.
