Outdoor enclosure

I live in the northeast where it gets very cold and is hard to find places to grow things or even good dirt for burrows I'd like to make bubby an outdoor one but not for all year because it gets like -50 here but I have no idea where to start please help

Choose a protected spot out of the wind with lots of sun. Up next to the house on the non-windward side would be a good choice. Then plant edibles. There are places online that actually sell weed seeds. . . dandelion, purslane, clover, lamb's quarter, plantain, chickweed, mallow, wild amaranth are just a few.
