You have done a great job. Love it all. Like others, the history and the house that your grandfather built is really nice.

I am happy to inform you that there were already a few updates to his enclosure. :D

I added some more plants for food and shade. The plants inside the wicker enclosure only look so droopy because I was really mean to them an transplanted them from the balcony to the garden. I hope thy'll make it... :p

Peter inspected every step carefully (and "fell" into every hole I dug).

Sorry for the quality, I only had my phone.

That is an amazing enclosure! Great Job! I took the liberty of printing a picture so I can give my hubby an idea of what I would like for my Sully. Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely fantastic. Your grandfather would be very proud and very happy for Peter, who sounds like a fun fellow.

Beautifully done!

Only thing I'd've done differently would be to build the walls of stone and mortar, instead of wood (that's just my preference, not in any way meant as a criticism) but I'm very impressed with the inside of the enclosure's layout, and will incorporate some of your ideas on the new enclosures when we move to North Carolina next April.

Hope mine looks as nice!

Thanks to all of you for your nice compliments!

@Terry: I chose wood because I wanted to keep the option open to increase the size of the enclosure very easily. With stone it would have been a bit harder (and more expensive). But I do like enclosures built out of stone, especially when the walls aren't completely straight, but curve and seem more organic.

Understood...been there, and have rebuilt/enlarged current wooden tortoisarium 2X!

When we move to North Carolina, I know how large I'll ultimately want it to be (at least 16' X 16' X 4, depending on layout of yard), so I'll build it of stone...was going to build a stone one here, but then we found out we'd be traveling north and east!

And I hope their new home ends up looking as nice as your tort's does.
