Anyone have any input on oxeye daisy. My horses don't eat it and the local cows don't but the only reference I can find concerning toxicity is in regard to insects. Thanks in advance for any feed back. This is in regard to Russian and or sulcata tortoises.

I couldn't find anything specifically on the ox eye daisy, but it is in the same family as all other daisies ( Asteraceae). So it's "probably" OK, but there's a chance it's not. So I guess I'm not really much help.:(

Bump for more information.

This is what I found on The Tortoise Table-

Common name : Ox-eye Daisy (Oxeye Daisy)
Latin name : Leucanthemum vulgare, syn. Chrysanthemum leucanthemum
Family name : Asteraceae/Compositae

The Ox-eye Daisy is part of the Chrysanthemum family, and we know that several species of Chrysanthemum contain Pyrethrins, which are used to make an insecticide.

Although the species listed above in the Latin names are not the ones said to contain Pyrethrins, we would advise you to err on the side of caution and only feed this plant in small quantities and as part of a wider varied diet.
