Painting/staining night box

If I paint/stain my torts nightbox (the outside only) can she sleep in it the same night? I was thinking of staining it tomorrow morning with a water sealing deck stain. I’ve been searching the forums but not seeing this question.

I paint them and let them dry for a couple of days before I move the tortoises into them.

I imagine the wait time will vary with what product you are using, but I definitely would wait for at least one or two days with any product.

So bring her inside in a tote? It’s about 77 inside the house when I wake up in the morning. Put the tote up off the ground?
