I use pothos plants in pots in most of my indoor enclosures now. Even for tiny hatchlings. It doesn't seem to do any harm. I've never tried it in a box turtle enclosure, but I can't see how it would be a problem.

Thank you. That is what I was thinking. I just want to make sure. I don't think Paxton will eat it, however it's a turtle.

My Torts love it to the point that even though it's easy to grow if I plant it in their enclosures, they'll eat it to the root in a day or so.

Jamie

PS - you'll also have to live with doomsayers screaming about oxalates and poisoning your tort or turtle, which gets old after a while

Do you have other plants you can recommend for the box turtle enclosure? Thank you
My Gulf Coast and Easterns will eat Pothos if I plant it in their enclosure, they love it.

All kinds of grass “clumps”. Some larger ones and some small. Plantains if dug up when small can be moved, dig deep to get the roots.

How large of an enclosure? Looks like an aquarium?

From what I have read, Pothos falls into the "In Moderation" category, meaning that it's fine for them to eat it once in a while, but it shouldn't be a main part of their diet.
Paxton hasn't eaten any it it, however I will keep an eye on it. Thank you

I'm trying different ones because I kill most plants. This is why I'm trying to do a rotation of plants. The button ferns are doing well. Pothos is doing ok so far. I killed 2 phlox plants already. The petunias and pansies are a reasonably priced so I will try those also. Thank you

Paxton might eat his petunias... however enjoys exploring. I will put in more grass. My neighbor is letting me take what I want. ( No pesticide) His grass is overgrown and I don't want to run into a copperhead....so I will wait. I'm so happy to see Paxton checking it all out, I put it in almost 2 weeks ago. I forgot how much I missed having a box turtle. 💜

I love them!
They're cheap and they grow with no intervention at all.
My Chameleons nibble them. My tortoises nibble them and my pond fish do too.
A single $4 plant bought today can supply you with hundreds of feet of vines and countess new plants in very short order.
I will warn you that if you plant some outside, they might try to take over your entire yard. And then your entire neighborhood. Depending on your climate.
I've seen Pathos vines nearly as thick as my arm and with leaves at least 20" across.
