Should be M.e.e. , M.e.p. and M.i. So all should be pure or bought as such ( all 3 are WC )

Unless they intergrade in the wild too !!

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I'm just now seeing this thread for the first time.

The animal on the left is an intergrade Mep/Mee. The one on the right is an Mee.

Why you guys and gals speaks of intergrade so often ?

May I clear one thing first - Intergrade as in breeding Mee to Mep or vice versa right ?

But the overlapping range of them is not that big in the wild ( only northern Malaysia to southern Thailand ) , so chances of Mee and Mep coming together to breed is quite slim ? And for an intergrade to escape being eaten , be caught , exported and landed in Europe or USA .... Chances Is even smaller .

Unless they are created or put together in ranch to be bred for export .

I tried but the smaller Mee male can't managed the bigger Mep Female and the Mee female not interested in Mep male !

Any proven or tried out case anyone here know of or seen in person ?

Cheers

Hmm, these are the exact same animals from a previous thread, where it was "clear" to you that both were Emys Emys.:)

Which only goes to prove that even the so-called "experts" can be wrong upon occasion.

Can have to make genetic tests if yes, or?
I am very interested to avoid a possible crossing who would give hybrids.

To prevent hybrid or intergrade ,
I try to keep my herd as pure as possible ( but in most case have to trust the suppliers' word )

I was speaking from my own experience. The pure strain of Mep has the pectoral scutes meeting exactly in the middle with absolutely NO space between them. The pure strain of Mee has very short pectoral scutes. On MY intergrades, the ones with Mep-looking pectoral scutes has a very tiny line where they meet, just like the picture on the left in the first post.
