So I am looking to renovate for peanut, my ten year old red foot. She's just so big and it's time for something better. I've been looking at companies that customize plastic containers and I was wondering whether this is a good idea or not?

I use plastic tote bins for some of my enclosures and it works fine. Is that the type of plastic you are referring to?

You can check on Craigslist for the large water troughs. I have seen the large 300 gallon Rubbermaid ones for as low as $65.00 . Just an idea . I love Craigslist. :)

Yes. CL got all kinds of goodies. Sometime even for free.

I was looking on craigslist earlier and couldn't find any, that's why I was going to see if I could customize a huge plastic container, I just wanted to make sure it was safe :)

Do you keep you Redfoot indoors?
Does it have an outdoor enclosure?
Rubbermaid, troughs as Heather mentioned and many plastics are safe to the best of my knowledge. I have some from Home Depot, etc.

I don't have an outdoor setup, it makes me too nervous with all the animals that live in our backyard, that's why I was looking for ideas for a larger indoor enclosure.
