Found this little guy while raking up some leaves in the old enclosure. I thought I got all the nests, but I missed one. Usually when this happens I only find one and a nest full of rotten eggs. Hopefully I find more.

He kind of smells like rotten eggs which doesn't give me much hope.

Getting pretty late in the year for him to be just coming out....he still has his egg tooth?

Very cute little guy.....
Yup. Usually they'd overwinter in the nest, but we still have some random days in the 70's and 80's

i seen 2 the day before yesterday ....... here it's not uncommon to see them in the fall ..... if they don't luck into a good spot for the winter they become a statistic, which is why the older they get (longer they make it) the less likely they are to die prematurely , it becomes less about luck......
