It could be a respiratory infection or something else. Could you please share detailed info about temps, humidity, enclosure, diet, and care? Pictures would be really helpful. The more info you can share, the better chance people can help you help your tortoise

I am thinking that the sound could be either caused by something stuck in the throat or a respiratory infection.
