Inside my tortoise's enclosure, i keep hearing this sound that sounds like a juicy grape being squashed. I though it was Franklin eating his food but he was nowhere near there. Is he sneezing? His eyes and nose are clear from any running. Could this be an RI?

Re: Please Help :(

That sounds like a good description of Joe swallowing or drinking. It can be quite noisy sometimes and is nothing to worry about.

RE: Please Help :(

Is Franklin a ventriloquist?

Do you have something else living in his enclosure?

Are you stepping on a loose floor board or does your enclosure shift when you approach it?

I'm stumped! :)

Take him to the vet. Try find out where exactly the noise is coming from eg mouth, tail etc.. Tortoises barely make any sounds so jut get it checked out

Lets identify the sound before rushing to the vet....

If its a like shy type of puffing noise the ppl who just helped me adopt mine told me its perfectly normal, unless he has a runny nose, or keeps his mouth opened

I got him a few days ago an when I took him outside he made the noise again while going back in his shell. So I think you're right.

Mine does puff while going back into his shell- i thought it was a ' leave me alone' type puff- but he will do it while resting on me with his head out
