Ok yesterday and today when Harley urinated white stuff came out of him. It's white and gritty. What is this? Normal? Should I be worried? Please let me know

RE: Please read

It is urates, normal. It shouldn't really be gritty though. How many times a day do you soak him and for how long? Does he have water available 24/7 and what is the humidity?

I'm soaking him about every other day for 20 mins. Yes he has water 24/7 and I've seen him lay in it. I'm not 100% what the humidity is.

Here's my unprofessional opinion. My tortoise usually excretes urates and the rest when he's soaking. I soak mine everyday for about 20 minutes in warm water. I don't expect every excretion to look the same. As long as mine is eating regularly and staying active, then I wouldn't worry. I tend to worry too much about mine.

Please get a hydrometer. Radio shack or other places have digital ones at good prices that are also thermometers. The one I like have wireless remotes letting me check those critical levels while I watch tv.
